AROUND Kemankeag

Kemankeag is located on the north shore of beautiful Rangely Lake. With an ideal southern exposure, the sun shines on the camp all day. As the various cohorts of your family roll out of bed, they gather in the White House or on the porch of the Kitchen House for coffee and breakfast.  If you're lucky, an early riser has taken the 10 minute trip into nearby Oquossoc and has brought back donuts and the New York times. The day's activities are discussed; swimming, canoeing, climbing a nearby mountain, or hiking a streamside trail to a hidden falls with swimming hole.  Lunch around the flagpole, on the lawn and porch of the White House is easy for a large group.  Afternoons may include water skiing, a trip to Rangeley, an expedition, or a nap. Kemankeag is big enough for all of it.  Early dinner for the kids is followed by the grown ups enjoying great food, wine, and conversation into the candle and star lit night.

WATER SPORTS

Kemankeag has over 800 ft. of prime shoreline. The 2 docks offer swimming for everyone at the drop of a hat.  Once you dive into the waters of Rangeley Lake you will always want to come back.  The water leaves yor hair and skin feeling refreshed and cleansed of city grime.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING

Bald, Bigelow, Saddleback, Elephant Mountain; climb a mountain every day if you want.  Take an easy family stroll to the top of Bald Mountain, or send the young and strong for an all day assault on Bigelow.
